PRACTICE SHARING SESSIONS
Any Artlink Central artist who would be interested in delivering a practice sharing session for other artists, please get in touch.
We are creating a 12 month programme of Skill Sharing Workshops where you lead a session and share your skills or learn from your peers.
We want to fill the programme from July 2011-March 2012. If you are interested in loading a 2 hour session please email Sarah Pearson on sarahp@artlinkcentral .
Artlink Central artist practice sharing
“Using art therapeutically”
A two hour taster
August 18th
10-12
Cowane Centre, Stirling.
In Artlink, we are primarily artists. However, in our work we become aware of people’s experience in creating a piece of work. On occasions we witness something different happening to them and see an added dimension; it can affect them emotionally. So there are times, perhaps, when we can enhance our work by being aware of the therapeutic nature of what people are doing.
Teasing this out and exploring the way of being and the skills needed to be with people at these times, will be the subject of this workshop. We will look briefly at the core conditions that underpin person centred practice and explore skills which will enable us to facilitate the people we work with to find an increased sense of well being in both the process and the final product of their work.
The workshop will be led by Stevy Reilly and Rosas Mitchell, both qualified person centred counsellors, BACP, and also trained in the Liesl Silverstone’s PCT approach to art therapy. They run both 3 day and 12 day residential courses in Scotland on this theme.
