veterans sculpture project

Running since March 2016. Sculptor Susheila Jamieson working directly with ex- servicemen from across Forth Valley to design, develop and fabricate permanent sculptures to be installed in Forth Valley Royal Hospital garden areas facing onto main corridor leading from mental health unit. Sculpture designs devised by ex- servicemen around path to recovery and overcoming ‘black dog’ of depression.

18 practical workshops including, stone carving, jesmonite casting and wood carving have taken place in community settings.

Creating Conversations - Do You Give a Kit Campaign

Creating Conversations have launched a spring campaign encouraging individuals to contribute towards the cost of getting meaningful activity kits into settings that support people living with dementia.

Creating Conversations is a trading arm and social enterprise supporting Artlink Central by through the sale of innovative products developed with participants in our programmes.

Our Activities Toolkit: Gardening themed was launched following a two year development, research and testing project with the assistance of the Gerontology Department at the Stirling University, NHS Forth Valley and other professionals specialising in dementia.

Creative PrescriptionS FOR pEOPLE LIVING WITH dEMENTIA

Would you like to take part or do you support someone who would benefit?

Artlink Central’s Creative Prescription is a participatory arts programme for people with a diagnosis of dementia who are still living at home in Forth Valley, working through visual art, music and interactive reminiscence activities to develop lively, social environments. This free, referral service delivers person centred activities that support social interaction, self-expression, creativity, mental health and well-being delivered in community settings and welcomes the involvement of participant’s families and carers. The weekly service will run from Stirling and Falkirk starting in April, running through to September 2017
