The Programme so far…
Friday 6th December:
Students from Larbert High School Art & Design department spent the day at the hospital decorating the windows around the building with Christmas designs. They filled the windows with creative ideas about Christmas at:
Main entrance
Reception
The Atrium
Oncology
Mental Health waiting area
Wards A22, A32
Staff entrance
Patient Relations
Outpatients department
Women and Children department.
They also set up a few stalls in the atrium to sell homemade items, with the fund being collected for Strathcarron Hospice.
Grangemouth Choral Society were the first group to perform as part of our Festive Programme. The 22 members spent the afternoon on Saturday the 7th of December filling the Atrium with joyful Christmas music which was enjoyed by the many visitors, patients and staff members who passed by, some stopping to sit and listen.
The Choir have been taking past in the festive programme at Forth Valley Royal Hospital for several years now, putting on an incredible show every time. They are based locally and always eager to welcome new members. They can be contacted on their Facebook page here.
The musical programme continued on Tuesday the 10th of December with Charley Bell, a solo vocalist who sang in the atrium along with her younger sister Jessica, supported by their sister Rebecca and their grandparents. Charley is studying to become a Nurse and after undertaking a placement in the Children’s Ward at Forth Valley Royal Hospital earlier this year, she wanted to return this Christmas to fund raise for the ward. During the hour Charley and Jessica sang in the atrium they collected a grand total of £100.05 in donations, along with bringing a fun, festive spirit to the hospital for the day.
The Freedom of Mind Choir
Sweet Harmony Barbershop Chorus have been regular members of our festive programme in previous years. We were delighted to have them back on Wednesday the 11th of December when the group filled the atrium with fantastic singing.
Forth Valley Off-Duty Nurses Choir
Forth Valley Sensory Choir
The Forth Valley Sensory Centre is located in Camelon and is an inclusive hub for anyone with sight or hearing loss to access information and be part of a community. The choir have sang in the hospital previously and were welcomed back gladly as part of this year’s festive programme.
